April

Eggs-tra Special Month

The traditional Easter month. We'll celebrate with all things EGG and CHOCOLATE!!

Pastry skills will be revisited to make a seasonal vegetable quiche tartlet.  For the rest of the month we'll indulge in chocolate dipped fruit, chocolate lollies and Florantines.

Due to popular demand, flapjacks will also back on the menu!

May / Mai

Spring Ahead

It's Spring at last and we can spend more time in the garden!   Gradually we'll be able to use some of our home-grown vegetables in our recipes. Until then, we'll have fun making French bread pizza, jacket potatoes with fillings, and some home-made elderflower cordial full of vitamin 'c' to keep us fit and healthy next winter!

    June / Mehefin

    Lazy Lunches

For summer days at home we will learn to make a picnic sandwich with a difference – a huge success last year!  A few surprises for Dad, and any special requests you have . . . let me know!

July / Gorffenaf

Holiday Hot Spots - Foods from around Europe!

It's holiday time - a chance to enjoy some foreign tastes.

A touch of Moroccan magic and a Spanish Paella will be fun to make and you can make it to your very own personal recipe.

September

Wow! It's hard to believe that an empty plot of soil can be transformed into a jungle of climbing, creeping and crazy vegetables within a few weeks! Now its time to transform them into edible feasts!
We'll start with fantastic bramble jelly and nettle soup (absolutely delicious!!) weather permitting!  soon, we'll be making
vegetable tarts and fruit sponges for the sweet toothed and a vegetable pasta bake with home made pasta of course. The recipes will vary according to what's in the garden!

October
The Autumn Harvest

We'll need to harvest the last of some of our vegetables by now, and keep as many as possible for the winter months!
Pickled onions are fiddly but fun; ratatouille will be great for the freezer and ready for winter dishes; warm potato and bean salad is simply delicious made with our home grown Anya potatoes! whilst the French Tarte Tatin will use the glut of autumn apples.

November

Pumpkin Party and Bonfire

To celebrate Bonfire night we'll make a feast to take outside including Pumpkin soup, sticky sesame sausages, toffee apples and parmesan cheese straws! all ready for the party!

December

Christmas Creations

Fantastic festive treats to get the season well underway! Kids won't believe that they can make their own Christmas cake (and a chocolate alternative), mince pies, edible tree decorations and savoury snacks. Mum might not be on her own in the kitchen at Christmas after all!!

January

Winter warmers

Keep winter chills away with soups, breads and store cupboard comforts! Cawl Mamgu (a Fearn family favourite!) with home baked bread... mmm. Baked apples with a variety of fillings, Welsh cakes and flapjacks are healthy snacks they'll love to make and eat ( great for the lunch box too!)

February

Lovely food for lovely people!

What a lovely month to make some beautiful Valentines cakes

- Fairy cakes and Scary cakes... they can decide!  They will learn to mix a batter and how to toss a pancake for Shrove Tuesday, and we'll make savoury and sweet fillings .. Breton style!
