Workshops for Juniors /Beginners

The Pumpkin Patch Cookery Workshops introduce children to the basics of preparing simple healthy meals, desserts and snacks.

Our ingredients are home-grown or locally sourced where possible, teaching children about where their food comes from. They will learn how to cook it, and how it’s good for them. Simple reference to the seasonality of food, vitamin content and the food groups gives young chefs a sound basis in healthy eating.

During the spring and summer months the children start preparing their own vegetable gardens and within weeks they start growing their own food. The onions, peas, beans and potatoes (to name but a few) are soon used in the kitchen to create healthy meals and puddings!

These quick results get children instantly hooked on gardening and they’ll soon be asking for a pumpkin patch of their own at home!
